This one-hour documentary, filmed over three years, chronicles over seven years of ongoing research and conservation work across Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta carried out by The Nature Conservancy.
The film highlights the importance of oyster reefs and the fascinating history
of oysters in Hong Kong going back hundreds of years.
The HK Natural History Society are delighted that Marine Thomas, Associate Director of The Nature Conservancy, and a prominent advocate for restoring Hong Kong’s oyster reefs as seen in the film, will be joining us at the screening.
She will be joined by Professor Bayden Russell from the University of Hong Kong, who specialises in ecology and biodiversity and whose research also focuses on oyster reef restoration.
