A great place to visit any time of year – but best in the cooler months. There are many garden areas, stream and forest habitats, and a wonderful orchard garden. There is an animal rescue centre, pig styes, a reptile display and an aviary of rescued raptors as well as wild birds.
Plants and trees in bloom include the powder puff bush, bauhinias, blood flowers, bougainvillea, aporusas, and several species of camellias, as well as purple magnolias, dombeyas, and firecracker plants.
You will have several hours to wander around and enjoy the extensive site. There is a shuttle bus to the top, but it is infrequent and booking is not always possible - ask at the gate.
Refreshments are available on site, but you can of course bring your own.
